On this account: 2 years.
I had an account before this one, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called or what email I used (I was very young).
I post on DA under the name ElvenIllusionist. Elven because I'm often likened to LOTR elves. (Having a strong British/Irish/Norse heritage I am a bit taller than the NZ average, very slim (some would say 'willowy'), with green eyes and wild blonde/gold curls) Not to mention I am a HUGE LOTR (& all things Fantasy) fan!
...Annnnd illusionist, because that is what artists are (in all their forms) they make you believe in the unbelievable, which is true magic!
Artist. Bookworm. Cinephile. (It's my tagline!)
I uploaded ALOT of Photography onto Deviantart when I first created this account. But later my focus changed to my artworks, so I took it all down. You could probably find it on the timeline of my official Facebook page tho: [www.facebook.com/naomishingler…
I don't feel like I have a favourite 'type' in terms of medium. I love trying new things and different techniques!
Definitely my favourite 'type' of art, in terms of subject, would be portraiture, typography, with a dash of nature studies.
Art style? Hmmm...
Digital = I'd love to instantly master that toon-y semi realism look!!!
Traditional = That hyper-realist-high-fantasy-mega-epic-painting style of the old masters!!! (think massive portraits and cathedral ceilings!)

Again, the 'type' thing. I don't have a type. I'll favourite anything from a 13 year olds underdeveloped sketch, to a mature professionals masterpiece. What matters most to me is creative ideas, and excellent composition.
Anne Stokes. Anne Stokes ftw!!!
While everyone in High School seemed to be gushing over boybands, the only person I truly fangirled over was Anne (and her artwork). To me, she represented the type of artist I wanted to be one day!
Now I am a bit older and have a greater appreciation for my own abilities, I try to focus on becoming the best 'Naomi' I can be. Though I still love her artwork dearly, and I proudly own many of her official merchandise.
My boyfriend of 3 years, Nicholas, is also an avid Deviantartist. In our first year of university, doing our Design degree, he really encouraged me to try new things and explore digital medium more openly then I had before. Because of him I found a greater courage within me to REALLY put myself out there, and run WITH my dream. Instead of chasing it.

Pencil and paper. It is how I began as a child, and still delights me now!
I often feel my ideas become more 'real' and 'alive' when I use traditional medium. But I love my Wacom tablet heaps too!!!
Anywhere that is quiet, with clean air, and a wide open space to look out at.
When I created a joint stock photography account with Nick. It is something I had been wanting to do for a long time, and a good excuse for me to dress up! (I LOVE dressing up in costumes!)
